Day 5: Dedication

I was feeling like yuck today. Heather did a gorgeous painting of orchids and I didn't feel like doing squat. She talked me into it and now I'm grateful. Which made me think of Elizabeth Gilbert's fabulous quote from her book Big Magic, “You can measure your worth by your dedication to your path, not by your successes or failures.”

Native Flora

Native Flora is my latest adventure in landscape painting. I took an older abstract painting that I've had for years and went to town on it. Felt so good! And I love the results. In my workshops, I encourage people to incorporate old work into new creations. I had fun taking my own advice!

Spring

Spring has sprung in Florida, even though its been the coldest spring break that I can remember! But I have planted my next garden, the birds are eating from our feeders and the flowers are in bloom. What better inspiration to play with small new paintings!
